365 Grateful- Day 265: 9/22/2014

I'm incredibly grateful to have received this letter from my grandfather today. I know the photos are hard or nearly impossible to read, but in the summer of 2011 I read Unbroken. It prompted me to write a letter and ask nearly 20 questions of my grandfather who was a POW for 18 months after getting shot down over Germany. Many of his answers surprised me and all of them made me glad I took the time to ask such specific questions. Now I need to book a plane ticket so I can hear the answers to all the questions he said we'd need to talk about in person.
