What a Day to be Alive

I hate that we live in a world where my 7-year old niece says things like "There just aren't good places to hide in my classroom except the cubbies."

We can and should do better as a society.

And while I choose to focus on being kind and sharing love with all of those around me, sometimes it's just too sad to comprehend.

It's comments like this that make you realize how spot on Obama was when he said for the children who survived the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, that their innocence was taken from them.

As someone who has been personally and closely impacted by a violent act as a result of a gun being in the hands of a mentally unstable person, I sincerely hope this is the wake-up call our government, our leaders and our society needs to take drastic measures against these kinds of horrors.
