My New Year's Theme
I decided I'm not a big fan of resolutions. They make me feel like an f'n failure if I am not able to accomplish my New Year's resolutions. And, you know, there's an opportunity like every second of the day to fall off the resolution wagon.
So this year I decided I was not going to come up with yet another weight-loss resolution, another declaration this this is absolutely the year I finally get my weight under control. I'm bored by that rhetoric. It happens every year. And inevitably I arrive at the end of the year and have nothing to show for my resolutions. Nothing except a larger number on the scale, or pants that don't fit or a low self-esteem.
That's just some of why I'm saying ef the weight-loss resolutions.
Instead, I decided to come up with a theme for my year. I thought long and hard about this. Because again, I wanted to get away from this weight-loss declaration (that only makes me feel worse about myself when I don't achieve all I set out to achieve). And I came up with...
Less Talking and More Action.
I am sick of talking about losing weight. I'm sick of talking about all the things I want to do to lead a healthier life. I'm sick of blogging endlessly about all the things I know I need to do to get myself in better shape. But the reality of the situation- of my situation- is that I need to do a helluva lot less talking and to replace all that with a helluva lot more action.
Because action is what's going to lead to results.
So my blog is going to take a different approach. I'm switching gears here so that I'm posting about the actions I'm taking this year. Not just about weight loss- but I sure hope that's a central theme here. I hope you'll come back and visit and check out my activity, literally and figuratively!
Happy New Year. Here's to Less Talking and More Action!
